Where conservation leadership and smart governance work together.

Hi, I’m Jason.

I partner with governments and nonprofits that care about land, water, and community to turn good ideas into real results. Through conservation consulting, training, and systems design, I help teams strengthen operations, improve partnerships, and deliver lasting stewardship. While I currently focus on projects in Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota, I’m available to support conservation organizations across the country.

At Stewardship Systems, I work with conservation leaders to tackle complex challenges by looking at the bigger picture, including how people, programs, and places connect.

Let's schedule a time to talk.

I help conservation leaders understand how people, programs, and places interact to support better decisions, aligned resources, and resilient systems.

Big Picture Strategy for Local Impact

Making Resources Count

Making Resources Count

Whether you’re writing a grant or managing a team, we make sure your resources drive impact, not just activity.

Local First, Big Picture Always

Every community is different. I build frameworks that fit your context and show how your work fits into the larger system so you’re not just working in a vacuum.

Mapping What Matters

Together we map who’s doing what in your region, find your allies, spot the gaps, and work smarter, not harder.

Resilience.jpg

Building Resilience

I help organizations stay flexible and grounded by connecting internal operations to external pressures like climate shifts, funding changes, and community needs.

I help teams forcus their time, money, and energy on what really matters. Whether you're applying for grants or managing staff, we make sure your resources are driving impact, not just activity.

Helping Conservation Leaders Tackle Their Toughest Challenges

Management Assistance

Strategic planning, systems mapping, and scenario development are at the heart of how I support conservation leaders. Together we build resilient organizations with clear direction and the tools to adapt and thrive.

Grant Services

Strong proposals start with clarity and purpose. I help conservation teams prepare, refine, and submit grants that reflect their mission and deliver results funders can trust.

Community Engagement

People shape every landscape. I work with you to design outreach strategies and engagement tools that build trust, strengthen collaboration, and inspire stewardship where it matters most.

Data Analysis

Change is measurable. I create practical tools for tracking outcomes and turning data into decisions. These insights help organizations refine their programs and guide future action.

Education

I lead workshops and webinars that help conservation leaders and staff build confidence and skill. Each session is hands-on and focused on real-world strategies that strengthen teams and expand capacity.

You know your land, your mission, and your community. You’ve already achieved results that matter. But without strong management systems, solid engagement tools, or clear strategy, your organization might not be reaching its full potential.

That’s where I come in. I partner with conservation driven governments and nonprofits to strengthen operations, clarify direction, and build lasting relationships with the people and places that make their work possible.

I work with conservation-focused governments and nonprofits to strengthen their operations, align their work with their values, and make stewardship efforts last. My practice, Stewardship Systems, serves clients across the United States, with a particular focus on Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
